Two Years
“Two years ago was our last normal week and nobody knew it.”
That was the meme my sister sent me earlier this week. In so many ways, this has been the longest two years on record and yet I find myself asking how could it already be two years?
Two years since Zoom became part of everyday conversations.
Two years since bottles of hand sanitizer were hard to come by, as was toilet paper and paper towels.
Two years since hybrid became the adjective to describe the workplace and the classroom.
Two years since curbside pickup or food delivery played into the decision about what restaurant to get dinner from.
And two years since we all had to rethink what “normal” is and what our “new normal” will be.
I, for one, am still defining the new normal, both personally and professionally. And I suspect I will be for the foreseeable future.
