#TipForTuesday – What is Leadership?

The second Tuesday of the month means I randomly selected three cards discussing characteristics of leadership. I committed to doing this every month for the rest of the year.
This month’s selections from Developing the Leader Within You are:

• Creativity/Innovation – thinking outside the box; trying new ways of accomplishing a goal
• Honesty – being truthful, sincere
• Customer Satisfaction – achieving excellence in customer satisfaction

The first two bullet points will almost always lead to the third, wouldn’t you say?
Of the three, honesty is the one that resonates the most with me.  Like most kids, I grew up with my parents telling me that “honesty is the best policy.”  Whatever bad thing I might have done was never going to be as bad as if I tried to skirt the truth.
We’re human; we’re going to make mistakes. But owning up to them and what we do next is what makes all the difference.
