#TipForTuesday – What is Leadership?
Grace was in my office when I was getting ready to select the cards for this month’s #TipForTuesday. So I went ahead and had her make the selection. And since we’ve only got three more #tips left in the year, I had her select five cards from the Developing the Leader Within You deck.
This month’s selections are:
- Growth – investing in lifelong learning, personal development, self-education
- Independence from the influence, guidance or control of others
- Knowledge – subject matter expert, educated via experience or study
- Integrity – words and deeds match up. I am who I am, no matter where I am or who I am with
- Achievement to the highest level of excellence
This list certainly exemplifies leadership qualities.
We are big proponents of continuing education and professional development here at HMA. Whether in the form of college courses, industry workshops or keeping up on the latest trends, we provide the time and if needed, financial resources, for our team to achieve their very best.
And because of that, I know we are subject-matter experts on a wide variety of topics ranging from media relations to issues management, crisis communications to community relations.
We encourage independent thinking and support our team’s creativity when dealing with our client projects.
But the one stands out for me in this list is integrity. Because none of the rest of it matters, if we aren’t true to our word.
