The Results Are in…Well, Sort Of
I spent a good part of yesterday evening watching AZFamily’s election coverage. It was an all-hands on deck situation, with reporters spread out across Maricopa County, bringing live updates from election headquarters and voting tabulation locations, and of course, coverage of candidate speeches.
The consistent messaging through the evening was a reminder that although there are results being reported, it was way too soon to call certain races. Sure, there were some candidates whose leads were significant enough that it was likely they would win the race. But for those hotly contested races, the reporters and anchors made it perfectly clear that it would be a least a few more days before a winner would be declared.
To our colleagues in the newsrooms here in Phoenix and throughout the country, you are to be commended for your efforts during this election season. It can’t have been easy with so much anger being thrust at you each and every day.
We appreciate you.
