How to step-up a community relations effort
Community relations often plays a key role in an organization’s ability to connect with its audience. It’s no different for law enforcement agencies who are always working to update their images and improve how they are perceived while helping keep us safe.
The Phoenix Police Department has stepped up its game in reaching its audience – taking its outreach to a new level with something everyone loves – an ice cream truck!
“This addition to the fleet will be yet another opportunity for Phoenix Police to engage with the community on a new personal level, and hand out sweet treats,” Sgt. Vince Lewis stated.
The idea was inspired by other agencies across the country whose ice cream trucks are already in operation.
If you want to see the new Phoenix Police Department ice cream truck in person, it will be at CBS 5 chief meteorologist Paul Horton’s Pay It Forward Car Wash at Desert Ridge on Thursday, Oct. 25. Horton and a team of volunteers roll up their sleeves and wash hundreds of cars in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona.
We can all scream for ice cream – and clean cars.
