PR For Random Facts We Should Know
Last week while cleaning my car I made a comment that it was so weird that the front bumper was so flimsy. To which I was informed that the reason it was flimsy was so that if I were in an accident it would absorb the impact and I would “potentially” get less hurt. This made so much sense and yet how did I not know this?!? Which got me to thinking how many other random facts are out there that I should know but don’t and where are the PR teams to help people know these facts?
Here at HMA we do #FunFactFriday at the end of every month which has random facts that people should know, so in a way I guess we are helping with that. Random facts such as:
- #FunFactFriday – Arizona – Arizona has more national monuments than any other state.
- #FunFactFriday – March Madness – An estimated 40 million people fill out more than 70 million brackets and the odds of filling out a perfect bracket are 1 in 9.2 quintillion.
- #FunFactFriday – July, In All of Its Glory – It was actually on July 2, 1776, that America gained its independence. Congress didn’t accept Thomas Jefferson’s declaration until the fourth.
Also, just this week Terri Pous (on BuzzFeed) posted the online article “Here’s A Bunch Of Cool Random Facts We Learned In September,” which has some pretty amazing things people should know such as:
- No one was burned at the stake during the Salem witch trials.
- Baby corn is just regular corn that gets harvested super early.
- Paper cuts hurt so much because they don’t usually bleed much, leaving pain receptors open to the air.
It seems that all of these things make sense and we all should know them. Now I want to know what is something you learned recently (or even not so recently) that you think everyone should know?
