#MediaMonday – Katie Faller
Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Katie Faller, AZ Family’s new Good Morning Arizona planner.
Tell us about the outlet and types of story pitches you want?
Good Morning Arizona is hyper local and loves to feature unique things going on in our community. We also tackle hard issues and are interested in pitches related to current events.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Cave Creek and went to Cactus Shadows High School before attending and graduating from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.
Favorite type of music?
Hard to choose a favorite. I like pop, indie rock, classic rock, standards and soundtracks.
Favorite color?
Probably pink.
Favorite TV shows or movies?
My favorite movie is Talented Mr. Ripley (I know, obscure), and though I don’t have a favorite all-time TV show, I thoroughly enjoyed Succession and Severance. But I also throw on Friends and New Girl often.
Favorite local restaurants or other haunts?
I used to go to MacAlpine’s on 7th Street often, but they’ve been closed since the pandemic. I’m really hoping they open back up. I love Cartel Coffee, and the Wayward is a great bar on Grand Avenue.
Least favorite food?
Eggplant.
Three things readers would be surprised to know about you?
- My parents are also journalists.
- I played soccer for 13 years.
- I was my high school’s mascot and 12 News did a story on me.
