#MediaMonday – Dave Strader
Each Monday, we are posting a blog to help our readers get to know the media just a little bit better.
With a TWIST!
No, we aren’t posting story pitch tips or media lists, but instead great stories from the media themselves about their lives, their work and other little known facts! Think of it as your first “networking” opportunity of the week!
We shoot and score with today’s #MediaMonday. With a White-Out in Glendale’s near future, it’s appropriate that we feature Dave Strader, TV play-by-play voice of the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes.
So, Dave, time to share!
What do you want to tell the blogosphere about yourself today?
I’m in my fourth season as the TV play-by-play voice of the Phoenix Coyotes and 25th season overall in the National Hockey League. I have also worked and called games for: Detroit Red Wings, ESPN/ABC, Fox, NHL International, NBC, Versus, and Florida Panthers.
Of all my years working in the NHL, following the story of the 2009-10 Coyotes was one of the highlights. With the backdrop of a bankruptcy, the sale of the team to the NHL and the constant rumors of an imminent move to another city, Dave Tippett led a focused group of athletes through one of the truly magical seasons in recent NHL history.
I’ve been married for 35 years to my high school sweetheart Colleen. We have three sons: Chris (29) and twins Casey and Trevor (22). We still maintain our home in upstate New York.
