Is Maricopa County Growing?

Maricopa County continues to be an excellent place for business.  Among the reasons is the continued population growth.  In our world, that means more people need to learn about your organization or company, its products, services and people.

According to new census figures, Maricopa County added 56,831 new residents in 2022. That’s an increase of 1.3%  from 2021 when the county saw 46,866 new residents.  The new numbers make it the nation’s fastest growing county!  The second-fastest growing county in the U.S. is Colling County, Texas.

It’s interesting because just a year ago, three of Arizona’s fastest growing cities were in Pinal County.

Where are the people coming from?  Two year ago, we noted that the largest segment of people moving to Phoenix were coming from Los Angeles.  Los Angeles County continues to lead the nation in people leaving.  Last year Los Angeles County saw more than 90,000 people move away and more than 180,000 departed in 2021. Despite that, it is still the country’s most populous county.
