How To Celebrate Birthdays
Everyone celebrates birthdays a little differently. Some ignore them, some recognize the same age over-and-over and some go all-out on the same day every year.
In the business world, company birthdays are celebrated as “anniversaries” and often serve as a foundation for media relations or community relations programming.
How HMA Public Relations has celebrated:
- For our 30th anniversary in 2010, we did “30 things for 30 years.” It was both fun and rewarding to do 30 different things for our community over the course of the year.
- For our 35th anniversary in 2015, HMA Public Relations participated in Random Acts of Kindness Week. Each team member was given 35 one dollar bills and required to go out and do something nice for someone else. The only guideline was all the money had to be spent by the end of last week.
The Arizona Diamondbacks recently celebrated their 20th anniversary by honoring a group of 20-year-olds who were born on the D-Backs first Opening Day in 1998. Known as the Fans for Life program, kids born on Opening Day every year at St. Joseph’s Hospital from 1998-2005 get free tickets for life to the D-Backs’ first home game of the season.
High marks for a promotion that was 20 years in the making and has maintained two decades of continuity.
