Digital/online communications has been recognized almost worldwide as the area where agencies saw the most growth during 2018.

In a report issued by the International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO), digital/online communications was the top growth area for agencies in regions including the United Kingdom, North America, Middle East, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa.

Only Western European agencies had a different finding, with social media community management as their top growth area.

As far as the top social media platforms across the globe, the World PR Report indicates that Facebook is the most popular avenue to reach consumers in Western Europe, North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Instagram is the most popular platform to reach consumers in the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

When it comes to agencies promoting their own businesses, Facebook is the most popular social media platform in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa.

LinkedIn is the choice in the United Kingdom, North America and Latin America.

Middle Eastern agencies prefer Instagram to promote themselves.

The ICCO features a network of 41 associations representing PR and communications agencies in 66 countries.
