Communications Pros Are a Good Example of a Community
There have been at least five occasions in the past week or so where I have been reminded of how closeknit and cooperative the communications industry is here in the Valley.
Whether we are celebrating each other’s successes at the annual PRSA Copper Anvil Awards or attending an open house for a colleague’s new office, we put competition to the side to share in the good fortune of others.
Over the years, we have been fortunate to have relationships with our agency colleagues here in the Phoenix area where we benefit from referrals to potential new business. We reciprocate in-kind, knowing that if we can’t do the work, we want the client to have a great experience somewhere else. Thanks to these great relationships, I’ve had some intriguing conversations recently with prospects with the hope that we’ll be working together soon.
And, of course, there is always ability to pick up the phone (or meet for a drink) to discuss, debate, commiserate, share, or just catch-up with like-minded people who will always be exceedingly honest and open with their opinions.
It’s nice to know that there are friends and colleagues that share the same passion as we do for our industry and do not hesitate to support each other.
