Arizona Center for Cancer Care Honored by Phoenix Magazine in Annual “Top Docs” Issue
Arizona Center for Cancer Care (AZCCC), a multispecialty group of Arizona’s most recognizable names in cancer treatment and technology, is pleased to announce that six members of its leadership team have been named 2014 “Top Docs” by Phoenix Magazine. They are:
Gynecologic Oncology
Dr. Ivor Benjamin – Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology with subspecialty certification in gynecologic oncology, Dr. Benjamin specializes in minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci surgical robot, and has performed more than 900 complex robotic gynecologic surgeries. He is medical director of the robotic surgery program at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, and serves as a robotic surgery proctor for training and skills certification of other surgeons throughout the country. Dr. Benjamin also is vice chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at St. Joseph’s, an associate professor at Creighton University School of Medicine at St. Joseph’s, and part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Dennis R. Scribner, Jr. – Board-certified in Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Scribner specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery and has performed over 700 complex robotic surgeries.
A recipient of numerous teaching awards and research grants, Dr. Scribner has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles.
Radiation Oncology
Dr. Christopher Biggs – Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and Diplomat of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, Dr. Biggs is an expert in radiosurgery and gynecological oncology. He spent five years performing radiosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute and previously served as director of the Baptist Oncology Center.
Dr. Coral Quiet – Board-certified in Radiation Oncology, Dr. Quiet is both the co-founder of Arizona Breast Cancer Specialists, which is a division of AZCCC focused solely on treating women with breast cancer with radiation, as well as Arizona Institute for Breast Health, a nonprofit focused on giving women options before breast cancer treatment completely free of charge. She was recently also named among the “48 Most Intriguing Women in Arizona’s History” by the Arizona Historical Society and is a recipient of both the Az Business Magazine Healthcare Leadership Award and Phoenix Business Journal Health Care Hero Award.
Medical Oncology
Dr. Andrew Buresh – Board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine, Dr. Buresh is interested in all aspects of clinical oncology and hematology, with a particular interest in gastrointestinal, breast, lung, and prostate cancer, as well as myelodysplasia, coagulation disorders, lymphoma, and myeloma. In addition to his notoriety within the medical field, Dr. Buresh recently received the Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award, which recognizes the area’s leading businesspeople under the age of 40.
Urology
Dr. Ben O. Donovan – Board-certified in Adult Urology by The American Board of Urology as well as certified with the Pediatric Urology Subspecialty Certification by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Donovan is an expert in all areas of adult and Pediatric Urology, including complex urethral reconstruction, Laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, bladder reconstruction and urinary diversion. He is also professional affiliated with the American Urologic Association, Endourologic Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Medical Association.
