It is time for spring cleaning?
I subscribe to dozens of blogs, newsletters, online magazines, etc. When I’m stuck for an idea for a blog post, I click through some of these for some “blog”spiration.
The theme of a few of these missives these past weeks has been spring cleaning. From the Take the Lead blog comes this one called Seven Tips of Spring Clearing Your Workspace. And no, that is not a typo, it is spring clearing. Linked in that post is one from AZ Business Magazine from April of last year called 10 Tips For Better Spring Cleaning in Your Workplace.
So what does spring cleaning (or clearing) look like for me at the office?
S – scrolling through email (inbox and sent) and delete. I hate to admit how old some of those emails are.
P – prioritize the to-do list. Not simply make the list based on client needs but add the due dates so I stay on track.
R – recycle the piles of paper. I’ve got two boxes under my desk right now that are overflowing.
I – Important files, whether email or hard copy, need to be archived.
N – never under estimate the value of a quick trip to the office supply store. Sometimes all it takes is a new notebook to get the organizing under control.
G – give myself a break. It’s the effort that counts, right?
