PRSA Phoenix – End of Summer Fling!
On Tuesday, members of PRSA Phoenix gathered at The Herb Box in Old Town Scottsdale to ring in the end of summer with great conversation, tasty cocktails, scrumptious appetizers and a lot of belly laughs.
Not all of our PRSA chapter’s events are centered on professional development and, to be quite frank, I am a firm believer that these laid-back networking events are just as important. I’m sure the rest of you would agree! While work is important, and networking to help your career along is essential to success, there are times when it’s probably best to talk about something other than work for an evening.
This is one of the things I love best about our PRSA Phoenix chapter. In addition to being all-star players in the game that is PR, this group is full of people who genuinely enjoy getting to know people outside of their professional habitat. And while being able to talk clients, projects and dole out sage career advice, these professionals are just as keen to share a funny story or a quirky interest.
The more I attend our chapter’s events, the more I see the value in attending them. If there was one thing that I would tell someone who is a PR pro but is not yet a PRSA member, it would be to simply get involved. As with all things, it’s what you make of it. If you go in with a good attitude and a willingness to make a real connection, there’s no doubt that you will be successful in doing so.
In addition to this, being a PRSA Phoenix member certainly comes with its perks! Little did our attendees know that our chapter’s board selected one lucky member to receive a Copper Anvils ticket, free of charge! Congratulations, Josh Weiss!
