Phoenix is Center of PR Universe
When cities put together bids to host major events such as the Super Bowl, the Olympics, Formula One races or other mega-international gatherings, the winning city takes on an enormous burden. There’s a huge financial commitment to pull these events off as well as a monumental volunteer effort.
It’s the same for regularly occurring events, such as the WM Phoenix Open or the Fiesta Bowl.
The hosting of these large-scale events also creates an incredible sense of pride for the hosting city and organization doing the actual hosting. There are also the economic development benefits, not to mention the tourism dollars that accompany them.
Last week, HMA Public Relations hosted the semi-annual conference of the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN). PRGN is celebrating its 30th anniversary and HMA is a founding member. The sense of pride our team has felt in showcasing our state and a flawless conference is immeasurable. The fact that more than 30 PR agencies from around the world would come to Phoenix/Scottsdale for these meetings says a lot about the strength of PRGN, HMA’s role in the network, and the allure of international travelers to State 48.
And this week, the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselor’s Academy is having its meetings in Phoenix/Scottsdale as well. It’s a double-whammy of PR leaders from across North America converging on Arizona to meet, share best practices and learn about new trends in PR and agency management.
The Valley is without a doubt, currently the center of the PR universe – and the HMA Public Relations team has played an instrumental role in making that happen.
