#MediaMonday – Stephanie Marie Adames

Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Stephanie Marie Adames, editor-in-chief of The Upper Middle, a new community news site connecting the upper middle neighborhoods of Phoenix.

Each week The Upper Middle will update you with stories in the community and on topics that may interest you. We hope to bring you stories that inspire, empower and inform you.  Many of our writers are from Phoenix and understand the importance of community news. In a world that can be so divided, we know the importance of coming together to connect. We hope to cast a light on all the good-doers that impact our community. We seek to gain their insight and capture their drive to better our society.
I am an Arizona native who has lived in the Phoenix area all my life. I first found my passion for writing while attending Paradise Valley Community College, where I received a Journalism Certificate. I then went on to attend Northern Arizona University.
I credit my professional success to the accessibility to resources that helped me continue my education as a single mother.  For that reason, I hope to empower others and bring awareness to resources and issues affecting the community.
When I’m not working, I like to spend time in the community with my family. My fiancé Patrick Morales and I have a strong passion for community issues. He currently serves as the president of the Tempe Elementary School District Governing Board and is a long-time education advocate. Together we have supported the improvement of public education. I also love spending time with my daughter, who is an 11-year-old theater kid. We share a passion for performing arts, music and artistic creativity.  When we aren’t busy with the day to day of life, we enjoy going to see plays at local theaters and the simple enjoyment of making slime!
