#MediaMonday – Peyton Clark

Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Peyton Clark, a writer and digital coordinator for AZ Big Media.

How did you get your start in the media? What is your story?

I’ve always loved writing, so I ended up going to ASU’s Walter Cronkite School where I received my degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a primary focus in Public Relations. Following earning this degree, then led me to becoming a social media coordinator for a digital marketing company here in Phoenix, which has now led me to becoming the digital coordinator for AZ Big Media!

I didn’t know I wanted to be in media until I was in it. I did, however, always know no matter what I did, I wanted a broad audience and luckily, media really helps accomplish this.

Tell us about your role?

For the AZ BIG Podcast, I conduct the scheduling and invitations for guests to be on our monthly recorded podcast. Day of recording, I will post live on our social media channel who we are speaking with to get readers and viewers excited for the episode when it goes live. I write the featured story of our guests and share what they have discussed with us.

As for everyday AZ Big Media digital coordination, simply put, if it’s digital (social media, website, digital ads, podcast, etc.) it’s a part of my job!

Where did you grow up?

I originally grew up in Charlottesville, Va. I moved to Arizona in July 2016… and yes, the temperature that day definitely made me question my decision. Truly though, I love Arizona – it has felt more like home to me each passing year.

I also am the person who will take 115-degree dry heat over 100-degree humidity any day!

Favorite color?

I’m a weirdo and don’t like traditional colors. I’m more into colors that are different shades, so mine are lilac and peach!

Favorite TV shows or movies?

My favorite movie of all time since I was a little girl is the Wizard of Oz. I’m also a Harry Potter geek so those are a consistent watch (and read) for me, as well.

Favorite local restaurants or other haunts?

If there’s pizza, I’m so there. My favorite pizza and restaurant in general in Arizona is Spinatos. If you haven’t been there, you must – it is the yummiest of yums!

Three things readers would be surprised to know about you?

  • I was actually an intern for AZ Big Media back in 2020-2021 during my senior year of college.
  • My number one bucket list item is to visit Italy.
  • I originally went to school to receive my psychology degree and become a marriage counselor… realized science and I don’t mesh well, so words it was.
