#MediaMonday – Nikki Link

Okay, Nikki, time to share…

Times Media Group is growing by the day! Tell us about which outlets you are writing for under their umbrella these days?

It’s more a question of which outlets I haven’t written for! You’ll find my work in everything from Foothills Focus to Lovin’ Life, The Argonaut to Pasadena Weekly, and Sound of Freedom to The Entertainer. From LA to the Phoenix Valley, keep an eye out for me. Here is a look at our full slate of outlets, which is growing by the day.

What kind of pitches, if any, do you prefer? What topics are of most interest to you?

My favorite topic to write about is music, followed closely by all things delicious. When I’m not in the office, I’m probably at a concert.

How did you get your start in the media? What’s your story?

I knew I wanted to be a writer from about the age of 10. I graduated with a degree in journalism from New York University in 2017. Since then, I’ve worked in radio, written for magazines and dabbled in social media marketing. However, newspapers are by far my favorite medium.

Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Favorite TV shows or movies?

I’ve probably seen every episode Anthony Bourdain put out during his television career. He continues to be a big inspiration for my work. On the fiction side, my favorite TV series is M*A*S*H and my favorite movie is Whisper of the Heart.

Favorite color?

Green!

What is something readers would be surprised to know about you?

I’m a huge lover of physical media. I collect both CDs and vinyl records.
