#MediaMonday – Molly Amber
Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Molly Amber, a freelance writer for Fabulous Washington as well as travel and food influencer in the Pacific Northwest.
How did you get your start in the media? What is your story?
I started a travel page @MollyWandersTheWorld and a food page @MollyWandersAndEats back in 2019, and that took me down the road to writing for Fabulous Washington. Traveling and trying new restaurants are my two favorite hobbies, and I love sharing my experiences with others through my writing and photos.
Tell us about your beat at Fabulous Washington and the stories you cover?
At Fabulous Washington, I primarily write Restaurant of the Week articles, spotlighting new restaurants in the Seattle area. I also write about local travel, events, and festivals happening in and around Washington state. Send me your pitches!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Camas, Wash., right across the river from Portland, Ore.. I’m a true PNW native!
Favorite color?
I LOVE color, so it’s very hard for me to choose just one. Right now, I’d say yellow!
Favorite TV shows or movies?
Sex and the City, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ted Lasso, Schitt’s Creek, and anything on Bravo.
Favorite local restaurants or other haunts?
Some of my local favorites are Umi Sake House, Spinasse, Japonessa, Lupo, and Tamari Bar. I also love all of the local wine tasting rooms we have here!
Three things readers would be surprised to know about you?
- While freelance writing is my passion, I’m a full time attorney as well!
- I’ve played golf since I was 8 years old
- I’ve visited 32 countries so far
