#MediaMonday – Marisol Avila

It’s not often you meet someone in real life who is legit “Instagram famous.”
But, at the recent opening of Hotel Adeline in Scottsdale, I not just met one, but adored her.
Marisol Avila is the founder of “All the Prettys,” a popular national fashion and lifestyle blog. Her Instagram page for the site, “alltheprettys” has a massive following. I am talking north of 45,000 avid fans. She also contributes to other style-focused sites and outlets.

So Marisol, tell us a little about yourself!

How did you make your way to Arizona?

A friend from my home state of Missouri convinced me in 2005 to head west, and I’ve never looked back.

How did you come to start All the Prettys? 

I have always been into creating and styling the perfect look for parties, events, etc. I actually wanted to study fashion design in school, but my mom pushed me toward medicine. This creative outlet has been my happy place.

Where did you grow up?

Kansas City, I’m a total Midwest girl

Do you do any other work in the media?

Blogging has introduced me into a whole new world. It’s so different than what I studied. I am looking into to partnering with local publications as we speak.

Favorite local haunts? 

I am a huge fan of Windsor and Tapas Papas. Oh, and of the newly opened Teapressa in Arcadia, which my dear from Allison Devane opened in late March.

Favorite place to visit? 

Seville, Spain

Favorite food?

Nachos—hands down!

Least favorite food? 

Peas

Three things readers would be surprised to know about you?

1. I used to dance Flamenco.
2. I make my own Limoncello.
3. I was a pre-med/vocal performance dual major back in the day.
