#MediaMonday – Lindsey Reiser

Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Valley native Lindsey Reiser, an award-winning multimedia journalist who reports and anchors for the AZ Family duet of Channels 3 and 5.  She joined the CBS 5 team back in 2011.

Lindsey, time to share:

After attending Desert Mountain High School, I went on to graduate from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.  I studied for a semester in Alicante, Spain, and also earned a degree in Spanish at ASU.   I currently serve as a mentor to journalism students.
My first job in TV was with KTSM/KDBC in El Paso, Texas, where I covered border and immigration issues. While in El Paso I investigated public corruption, uncovered poor business practices and routinely reported on the violence across the border.
I will be celebrating seven years with Arizona’s Family in August. I report at 9 and 10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and anchor the weekend newscasts (5, 6, 9, and 10 p.m. on Saturdays, 5:30 p.m. and 9 and 10 p.m. Sundays).
I’m proud to serve as a member of United Blood Services’ Community Leadership Council, a volunteer advisory board for the UBS of Arizona.
When I’m not reporting or volunteering, I love everything the beautiful city of Phoenix has to offer: great weather, hiking trails, restaurants, running, and, of course, living close to my family. I also post too many pictures of my pup Jules.

Favorite type of music?

I love songs I can run to with a good beat, but also the classics. Lately I’ve been loving what Spotify recommends for me.

Favorite places to visit?

Sedona and Monument Valley!

Favorite food?

I’m a vegetarian, so I cook a lot, and you can see more food pictures than you want on my Instagram account, @lindseyreiser.

Harry Potter series, First Fifteen Lives of Harry August.
