#MediaMonday – Janet Perez
A few years ago, we spotlighted Janet Perez as part of our #MediaMonday series. If you missed it, a few highlights:
- She used to work in communications with ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, as well as several media roles across Arizona.
- She was a TV reporter several years ago.
- Her favorite color is purple.
- She loves all music save for meta and country.
- Her favorite places to visit are Rome, San Francisco, New Orleans and Sedona.
- Italian is her favorite type of food; Thai is her least
We are re-sharing her story today in order to provide a very exciting update: effective now, Janet has signed on to be the news editor for both the Queen Creek Independent and the Florence Independent. She also has a few other tidbits to share:
Janet, how have you been spending COVID the past several months?
Needless to say, the COVID pandemic is a horrible thing. But there is a silver lining for introverts such as myself. I enjoy staying at home with my pets and not being forced to be “on” all the time. As long as there is food delivery I’m happy to go days without seeing anyone and communicating via email. At the same time, I hope for everyone’s sake that this will be over soon.
Any TV shows that have been getting you through?
I have weird tastes so Archer, The Good Place, What We Do in the Shadows, Good Girls, Angel and those cheesy ghost-hunting shows. They’re hilarious.
What are your favorite movies of all time?
If you had asked me this four years ago I would have given you a rundown of classic movies from the pre-COVID era. But since reality bites right now I’ve been happily watching Marvel movies just to escape from the world for a few hours!
Something readers would be surprised to know about you?
Besides being a Marvel movie fan? I would say my new hair color. To keep up with the gray I went blonde!
