For many of us, the editorial cartoons are a must-see, whether they are in a student newspaper, a local daily or an international publication. It’s a place where the First Amendment is showcased on a daily basis. It’s where news, politics, irony, humor and art come together.
Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from David W. Fitzsimmons, a multi-talented, all-around journalist who calls Tucson home, but whose work is seen and read worldwide.

What do you want to tell the blogosphere about yourself today?
David W. Fitzsimmons should know better. Progressive cartoonist, columnist, blogger and editorial writer for The Arizona Daily Star, Fitz is syndicated to more than 700 news publications around the world. The only Bolshevik and Pulitzer Prize finalist south of the Gila River, Fitz has been reprinted in USA Today, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Time, Newsweek and China Daily just to name a few.
A happy cancer survivor he has a beautiful and brilliant wife, three bright and creative children who have all managed to evade capture, three cats, one dog and the mouse is missing.
As an entertainer, he is known as the “fastest draw west of the Potomac,” a “flaming moderate at the fringe of America’s center,” a man who loves reading hate mail from readers and making his kids laugh.
