#MediaMonday – Connie Colla
Each Monday, we are posting a blog to help our readers get to know the media just a little bit better.
With a TWIST!
No, we aren’t posting story pitch tips or media lists, but instead great stories from the media themselves about their lives, their work and other little known facts! Think of it as your first “networking” opportunity of the week!
Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from Connie Colla, the host of ABC15’s new 3:30 p.m. show “Smart Family!”
So, Connie, time to share!
What do you want to tell the blogosphere about yourself today?
I’m back!
I am hosting a new 3:30 p.m. show for ABC15 called “Smart Family!”
If you would have asked me in 1994 if I would ever leave the Valley I would have said, “Are you flippin’ nuts?! I love this town!” At the time I anchored the Valley’s number one morning show on KPNX and had a fun radio show on Variety 104.7. I literally drove home from work or to the golf course every day with my cheeks aching from laughter. I did leave though.. it was an offer I couldn’t turn down- — a chance to help build and anchor a brand new morning show in Philly for NBC. Then it was on to Comcast to help build a Network. I love creating programming! Along the way I met my husband Dave and we now have two young children.
My career took me away from Arizona, but my heart has always stayed here. Fortunately my husband fell in love with the city too and when I said I wanted to head West, he was the first to pack his sunscreen!
So here we are– creating programming for ABC15! As I sit on the back patio, writing this blog, and watching the kids play in the pool…my cheeks ache all over again…
It’s good to be home.
