Managing PR Campaigns With Heart
It seems appropriate on Valentine’s Day to talk about leading with your heart and not your head. Over the past couple weeks, I have had several conversations with colleagues about how certain client projects stretch you beyond the typical scope of work in to something more.
Sure, scope creep is something all of us in client-service industries need to be aware of. But there are times when doing what needs to be done, even if it is outside the established scope of work, is more important than what we’ve got in the contract.
As an agency with a commitment to teamwork – both within our firm and with our clients – means sometimes you need to think differently about how you approach the work. When clients become friends and their passions become your passions, you know that you’ve moved from simply a contractual relationship to a trusted partnership.
We are better practitioners when we care more. And to me, that’s exactly the way I like it.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
