How Do I Amplify a Media Placement?
Okay, your public relations agency has secured you a major media win. The story is now out in print, and it touches on all the pillars that make your organization special, and spells everyone’s names correctly.
Now what?
If the story simply runs, and that is it, you are missing a critical promotional opportunity. In fact, you are missing several.
At HMA Public Relations, we focus on both securing quality media coverage as well as providing strategies on how to best amplify it over time.
Some suggestions:
- Have a copy framed and hang it in the office. Then every person – including clients and potential clients – will see it when they visit the office forever.
- Get a clean digital copy for use on all your organization’s social media pages and channels. Use hashtags and pin it to the top of your profile if exceptionally good.
- Provide a good digital version to your entire staff with a handful of copy options and encourage them to post on their social channels. If nothing else, you have given them excellent LinkedIn content.
- Use it on your website: outside of social media channels, consider posting it to your organization’s blog with some contexts, or even better, add it to your organization’s “in the news” section of the website. Don’t have one…consider adding one.
- Use it in new business proposals: A link to the story, or a print copy, makes a great “leave behind” or conversation starter when speaking with a potential new client or partner. Let the story help showcase your organization at its best.
- Have a newsletter? Add it to your newsletter as a feature story or link back to it within a story.
