“THE GREAT VOTER CHALLENGE” DEADLINE RAPIDLY APPROACHING TO REGISTER FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION

Arizona residents who are currently not registered to vote have one month left to register for the Primary Election.   The deadline for Primary election registration is Monday, July 28th at midnight.

“As we approach the election, I want to encourage every citizen to register, become informed about the candidates and the issues, and then vote,” stated Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Founder of O’Connor House. “It is so important and our democracy depends on each of us to do our civic duty.  Remember to vote!”

O’Connor House, with the help from Arizona businesses, public libraries, schools and Chambers of Commerce, are working to elevate the state’s national ranking by increasing voter registration and turn-out. Following the 2012 elections, Arizona’s voter turn-out ranked 45th in the nation*.

The Great Voter Challenge encourages all eligible Arizona citizens to register, become informed on issues and exercise their right to vote in local, state and national elections.   Independent voters may vote in the Primary Election but must contact their respective County Recorder’s office to request a Primary Election ballot so that it can be mailed to them.    To register and for more information, visit www.VoteAZ.net.
