Southwest Behavioral & Health Services Promotes Erica Missicano to Chief Quality Officer
(PHOENIX – March 17, 2021) Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H), an innovative leader in behavioral health, today announced that Erica Missicano has been promoted to Chief Quality Officer. The current vice president of Risk and Compliance will take on a more expansive role overseeing the Learning and Development and Clinical Training teams.
“For the past year, Erica has been instrumental in bringing real-time information to all sites from a risk, compliance and quality perspective,” says president and CEO Steven Sheets. “Erica has been instrumental in building and enhancing our policies and procedures, expanding the scope of feedback to all programs throughout the organization. Her promotion to Chief Quality Officer is well deserved.”
Missicano joined SB&H in 2019 to oversee the organization’s risk management and compliance departments. She ensures that all procedures, protocols, and strategies are fully implemented to protect SB&H and its assets. She also promotes a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
Missicano has more than 17 years of quality management experience in the behavioral health industry. Before starting at SB&H, Missicano was a health care QM project manager for Aetna/Mercy Care, where she was responsible for assisting providers with understanding audit expectations and requirements. She also investigated the quality of care reviews. Additional experience includes quality management and clinical positions at Magellan Health Services, Arizona Department of Health Services, Office of the Monitor, ValueOptions, Inc., and Triple R Behavioral Health.
A Surprise resident, Missicano received her Master of Social Work from the Indiana University School of Social Work.
