Rafi Law Group Volunteers Log 523 Hours During Annual Summer of Service
12-Week Initiative Helped Thousands of Families Across the Valley, Yuma and Tucson
PHOENIX, Yuma and Tucson, Ariz. (Oct. 8, 2025) – The team at Rafi Law Group today announced that they completed their second Rafi’s Hope Summer of Service. The comprehensive 12-week volunteer initiative raised $40,000 and generated 523 volunteer hours of community service across the Valley, Yuma and Tucson. The program, which ran from June through September, focused on supporting children, families and communities through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations.
“Our commitment to Arizona extends far beyond the courtroom,” said Rafi’s Hope Chair Rich Yado. “The Summer of Service represents our firm’s dedication to giving back to the communities we serve, and we’re proud of the meaningful impact our team was able to make alongside these incredible organizations.”
The initiative included partnerships with 12 nonprofit organizations, addressing critical community needs from food insecurity to educational support:
Food Security Initiatives: The team contributed to multiple hunger relief efforts, including packing more than 1,400 emergency food boxes at St. Mary’s Food Bank, preparing more than 25,000 meals at Feed My Starving Children to combat global hunger, and assembling more than 750 Emergency Food Boxes at Tucson Community Food Bank for Southern Arizona families.
Back-to-School Support: Recognizing the importance of educational equity, Rafi Law Group sponsored and participated in back-to-school initiatives, including the Yuma Back To School Rodeo where they helped distribute more than 2,000 backpacks to students. As presenting sponsor of the Valleywise Health Backpack Drive, the firm helped pack and distribute more than 3,000 backpacks across eight Valleywise locations.
Family and Housing Services: The firm supported vulnerable populations through work with CASS preparing transitional housing, assisting families at UMOM through clothing sorting and meal service, and creating specialized Birthday Packages for children in foster care through The Foster Alliance in collaboration with AZ Big Media and Battle Protection Agency.
Healthcare and Emergency Relief: Additional efforts included baking treats for children and families at Ryan House, assembling more than 1,000 Emergency Heat Relief Kits with Valley of the Sun United Way, and preparing and serving meals to hundreds of community members at St. Vincent de Paul.
Summer of Service culminated with participation in the national Sept. 11 Day of Service at ASU’s Mullett Arena, where volunteers helped pack thousands of meals to honor the day through unity and community impact.
“Each organization we partnered with is making a real difference in Arizona, and we were honored to support their missions,” added Yado. “From addressing food insecurity to supporting educational needs and emergency relief, these collaborations allowed us to contribute to solutions for some of our community’s most pressing challenges.”
Rafi Law Group plans to continue community engagement initiatives beyond the Summer of Service, building on the relationships established and lessons learned during the program.
