‘Placemaking: Unlocking Public Space’ To Be Topic At Arizona Association For Economic Development’s October Luncheon

(PHOENIX – September 22, 2017)  – “Placemaking:  Unlocking Public Space” will be the topic at the Arizona Association for Economic Development’s (AAED) October luncheon.   It will be held on Oct. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at 2901 N. Seventh St. in Phoenix.

David Krietor, CEcD, president and CEO of Downtown Phoenix Inc., Kate Borders, executive director and president of the Downtown Tempe Authority, and Vernon D. Swaback, FAIA, FAICP, partner, Swaback Partners, will be the speakers.

The trio will discuss placemaking – a means of enhancing spaces to create great places.  They will share insight into how unique community amenities and spaces factor into attracting top employers.  They will shed light on how successful cities are reinventing public spaces to create authenticity, diminish blight and provide exceptional gathering spaces for residents, workers and visitors.

The cost of the luncheon is $45 for AAED members, $65 for non-members and $75 for late registrants.
