PHX Renews to host nonprofit collaboration to benefit families
Keep Phoenix Beautiful, Families Giving Back and Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona are partnering together to host a day to benefit families and create an educational volunteering experience. On Saturday, March 28, the activities will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at PHX Renews, 4221 N Central Avenue, a 15-acre community garden and urban agriculture site in the heart of central Phoenix organized by Keep Phoenix Beautiful.
“We are very honored to be a part of this unique collaboration with Keep Phoenix Beautiful and Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona,” said Lisa Geyser, co-founder and vice-president at Families Giving Back. “This type of event shows how valuable it is to our community to have families, with children of all ages, volunteering to make a difference.”
The day will consist of four stations including an organized drum circle, a painting station where youth will be painting a 4×8 mural, a soil discussion and planter decoration, and a materials hunt. Nearly two hundred children and families are expected to attend the day.

Founded in 2012, Families Giving Back is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to family volunteering in the Phoenix metro area. Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona
Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is the only nonprofit organization in Arizona delivering creative and therapeutic arts programs to abused and homeless children, ages 3 to 21 years. Established in 1993, Free Arts offers four distinct programs and serves more than 7,000 children annually. We partner with 32 child welfare agencies, spanning 100 + sites throughout Maricopa County, including group homes, crisis shelters, residential treatment facilities, and unaccompanied minor programs.
