(PHOENIX – Jan. 15, 2016) – SUBWAY® Restaurants of Arizona was proud to support the Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped (ARCH) during its recent 40th anniversary celebration. The event provided more than 300 meals to the organization’s major anniversary events – both the grand opening of the ARCHKids Arizona Diamondbacks’ Den, which is a special area the ARCH campus designed to for children, as well as its celebratory field day and game festival for children from adaptive programs at local schools. The events took place on Friday, January 15 at the ARCH headquarters, which is located in Phoenix.

The celebration included the formal dedication of the space for the nonprofit’s therapeutic afterschool children’s program, including a ribbon cutting ceremony with including Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Vice President, Corporate & Community Impact for Arizona Diamondbacks, Debbie Castaldo, as well as an open house and – of course – the lively field day.

ARCH is committed to providing services and programs which enable handicapped individuals to obtain higher levels of physical well-being, pride, independence, and self-esteem. Subway is a long-time supporter of ARCH and its mission. In fact, Subway Kids & Sports of Arizona – a non-profit to support children statewide founded by local franchisees in 1999 – has awarded more than $20,000 in grants to the organization over the past two decades.
