(PHOENIX – April 29, 2019) – Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS) was honored for the seventh year with the Excellence in Giving Transparency Certificate, which is rewarded to nonprofits that reveal challenges and successes they have experienced in reaching their goals, promoting a community that holds themselves to a higher standard of openness and accountability.

Recipients of the Excellence in Giving Transparency Certificate are recognized for going above and beyond, sharing more about governance, finances, strategy and impact than is required by the IRS. Transparency seal recipients are rewarded for their honesty to voluntarily disclose information about operations within their organization, welcoming a new breed of nonprofits committed to higher standards.

“We are pleased to have received this certificate again this year, confirming that transparency and accountability are important guideposts in our organization,” says Dr. Lorrie Henderson, President and CEO of JFCS. “It is an honor to be recognized for our strong commitment to these critical values of JFCS”.

Serving the Valley for more than 80 years, JFCS has supported thousands of children, teens and adults through trauma, family violence, mental illness and substance abuse, as well as other serious behavioral, physical and social obstacles. Their compassionate, attentive and confident care distinguishes them among other local organizations.

Excellence in Giving is a full-service philanthropic advisory firm that gives philanthropists the ability to confidently maximize the impact of their charity through access to a database of nonprofit organizations.
