Total Transit has commemorated the opening of its Discount Cab “storefront” with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Junior Achievement’s simulated community, BizTown. Pictured are: (l-r) Joyce Richards, president, Junior Achievement of Arizona, Spencer Johns, Junior Achievement Ambassador, 5th grade Towne Meadows Elementary, and from Total Transit, (partially hidden) Pam McTague, marketing administrator, Craig Hughes, founder and CEO, Gregory Janezic, area manager, and Kelsie McClendon, corporate HR manager. BizTown engages students in the roles of workers and consumers in a series of classroom lessons that culminates in a day-long visit to BizTown. Through daily lessons, hands-on activities and active participation in the simulated community, students develop a strong understanding of the relationship between what they learn in school and their successful participation in a worldwide economy. Junior Achievement of Arizona will reach more than 100,000 students during the 2013-2014 school year. For more information on Junior Achievement call (480) 377-8500 or visit www.jaaz.org.
