Valley Humane Society(MARICOPA, Ariz. – April 23, 2018) – Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion that will add more guest rooms, a spa, conference center with increased ballroom space, additional restaurants and a multi-level parking structure.  But that hasn’t stopped the casino from its ongoing commitment to its company-wide CodeGreen initiatives.

CodeGreen provides low-carbon solutions to reduce water, energy and waste consumption at all Caesars’ resorts. Each property has its own CodeGreen team to implement the company strategy on a monthly basis. The Harrah’s Ak-Chin team, recognizing that there was an opportunity to utilize the casino’s interior carpet, contacted the Valley Humane Association and offered it up for their location.

“We were pleased that the Valley Humane Association could find a use for our unused carpet,” said April Stovall, Surveillance and Facilities Manager and the property’s CodeGreen Leader. “Our remodel provided a perfect opportunity to donate the carpet to a very worthy organization.”

Celebrating 23 years in Maricopa, Ariz., Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is Arizona’s first and only tribal casino to have an international management partner.

In addition to its slot machines, video poker, video Keno, statewide progressives and live action poker and Black Jack, Harrah’s Ak-Chin boasts the only Bingo hall in the Caesars organization.  Casino guests can also enjoy a variety of dining options, including the Copper Cactus Grill, Oak & Fork, Agave’s Restaurant, The Range Steakhouse, The Buffet and Dunkin Donuts®.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin has been named a Most Admired Company by Arizona Business Magazine and BestCompaniesAZ, and Phoenix Business Journal has named the property one of the “Best Places to Work in the Valley” five times. Harrah’s Ak-Chin was also awarded a Volunteer Service Award from the Arizona Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism.
