Harrah’s Ak-Chin Employees Donate Tips to Local Non-Profit

(PHOENIX – July 13, 2015) The Harrah’s Development System (HDS) associates of Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino presented a check for more than $1200 to Against Abuse, Inc. The HDS associates voted to donate three months’ worth of tips to the local non-profit.

Against Abuse is a non-profit that serves Pinal County helping individuals understand the effects of family violence and the resources available to help the abused.

“It was incredible to see our Harrah’s employees donate their tips in order to help the community and give back to an organization that is so impactful,” said Christine Todd, HDS program manager. “Our staff loves to be involved in the surrounding community any way we can.”

The HDS program integrates members of the Ak-Chin Community into key areas of the casino entertainment industry. Individuals in the program are given the opportunity to learn multiple roles within the casino and gain the skills necessary for future management roles.

“It means so much to our organization to have this kind of support,” said Torri Anderson, board of directors for Against Abuse. “Every donation enables us to continue providing the necessary resources for the community.”
