Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino HERO Committee Packs Snack Bags for Children in Need
MARICOPA, Ariz. (March 13, 2026) Members of the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino HERO Committee volunteered their time to support local children experiencing hunger by participating in a H.E.L.P.SNACKZ packing event organized by HELPNowAZ.
During the Feb 27th event, volunteers assembled and decorated snack bags filled with snacks and uplifting messages for children facing homelessness or food insecurity in the community. The bags are distributed through the H.E.L.P. (Homeless Engagement Lift Partnership)SNACKZ program, which helps fill hunger gaps by providing daily snack bags to at-risk youth. For many children, these snack bags help ensure they have something to eat when they return home from school
“Through efforts like the H.E.L.P.SNACKZ event, we can continue our commitment to supporting local organizations and strengthening communities throughout Pinal County and beyond,” said HERO Chair Barbara Achten.
The HERO Committee is an employee-based volunteer group at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino that provides team members and their families opportunities to give back to the community through service projects, charitable donations and nonprofit partnerships.
