Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Appoints Karen Sampson Director of Human Resources
(MARICOPA, Ariz. – Aug. 18, 2023) Karen Sampson has joined Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino as director of Human Resources. She will oversee the organization’s human resources strategy, talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity and inclusion practices, employee education and development, compensation, and will continue to elevate the employee and customer experience through a heightened focus on company culture.

Sampson has more than 26 years of human resources experience in the hospitality, food and beverage and sports entertainment industries. Before joining Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, Sampson was the human resources director at Emporium. She created all policies and procedures and developed and implemented human resources information systems (HRIS) and talent acquisition systems. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Royal Palms Resort & Spa, Levy Restaurants and Motel 6 G6 Hospitality.
Sampson received her bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis in Human Resources from Arizona State University.
