Governor Katie Hobbs Appoints REDW Advisors & CPAs Principal Brian Foltyn to Arizona State Board of Accountancy

(PHOENIX – Oct. 22, 2024) — REDW Advisors & CPAs is honored to recognize the governmental appointment of Brian Foltyn, CVA to the Arizona State Board of Accountancy. Foltyn, who will serve a five-year term on the Board, is a Principal and Practice Group Leader in RED’s at Valuation & Related Financial Services Group.

The primary duty of the Arizona State Board of Accountancy is to protect the public from unlawful, incompetent, unqualified or unprofessional certified public accountants through certification, regulation, and rehabilitation. The Board provides assurance to the public that the CPA profession in Arizona operates at the highest level of professional competence through verification of education for Uniform CPA Exam applicants; verification of education and experience credentials for Certification applicants; monitoring compliance with continuing professional education requirements for CPAs and peer review requirements for CPA firms; and investigation of consumer complaints. The Board also serves CPA professionals and applicants to the profession by providing complete information and prompt processing of CPA examination applications; administration of the computer based Uniform CPA Exam; and certification and registration of CPAs.

In recent weeks, Foltyn was also named to BRV’s inaugural Leadership Council, a group that will help shape the future of the business valuation profession. This is an independent, profession wide group that will share insights, drive innovation, and give its perspectives on the future of business valuation practice.

Foltyn leads REDW’s Valuation & Related Financial Services practice, backed by almost 30 years of professional experience in both industry and public accounting, which includes business valuation advisory services, strategic planning, dispute advisory, forensic accounting, and mergers & acquisitions. He has assisted clients in more than 1,000 valuations, due diligence, and dispute engagements in numerous circumstances. Foltyn also serves in the United States Trustee Program as a subchapter V chapter 11 trustee for the federal judicial districts established for Region 20: Kansas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Foltyn is designated as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and his Master of Science degree in Accountancy from Walsh College.
