Esperança Receives Outstanding Score on Charity Navigator
(PHOENIX – JULY 10, 2019) – Esperança, a Phoenix based community health organization, has received a 4-star rating for the sixth consecutive year from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized charity evaluator.
Charity Navigator rates charities by evaluating its accountability, transparency and financial health. These ratings are used as a resource for donors to effectively evaluate how their contributions will be used.
Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator has become the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. The team of professional analysts examines tens of thousands of non-profit financial documents to develop an unbiased, objective, numbers-based rating system to assess more than 9,000 charities.

Esperança serves under-privileged communities throughout Nicaragua, Bolivia, Peru, Mozambique and Ecuador with its indigenous partners and volunteers. Through volunteer missions, Esperança provides these communities with medical care, clean water, stable food sources, housing and disease prevention education.
Locally, Esperança serves the Phoenix community through its domestic program by partnering with Title I schools, dental clinics, and community centers; utilizing bilingual and bicultural health educators to provide children with oral health literacy, referrals for free or low-cost dental care, and daily health and wellness exercises.
