DrugFreeAZKids.org to host “Substance Abuse Among Elementary & Middle School Aged Kids” Webinar

WHAT: Did you know there are certain substances abused more by elementary and middle school aged kids than teens? When it comes to youth substance abuse, most of the focus is on teens. However, drugs like inhalants and “sizzurp” are more popular among younger kids.

Join us on Wednesday, August 19 for a free webinar from noon to 12 p.m. as we look at the trends and explore contributing risk factors and methods you can use to reduce the likelihood that they will engage in this risky behavior.

DrugFreeAZKids.org is the leading source of information about preventing youth substance abuse. One key way of prevention is to talk early and often about the dangers of substance abuse with your children. Kids can begin to hear messages about making healthy choices as early as preschool. This is especially important since the average age of first time drug use in Arizona is 13 years old. By participating in this webinar, we will help you prepare for such discussions.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from noon to 12:30 p.m.
