DrugFreeAZKids.org to host “Pop Culture & Drugs: What Does This Mean For Our Youth?” Webinar
WHAT: Whether it’s song lyrics about drugs, smoking on the big screen, or alcohol advertising on the many forms of media we now have, messages about these harmful substances are making their way to youth. What exactly are they saying, and what does this mean for our kids? We will examine these messages; some that you may not even realize are there and discuss the steps we need to take to make sure kids are getting the right information.
Join us on Wednesday, September 16 for a free webinar from noon to 12 p.m. as we look at how pop culture and drugs influence our youth.
DrugFreeAZKids.org is the leading source of information about preventing youth substance abuse. One key way of prevention is to talk early and often about the dangers of substance abuse with your children. Kids can begin to hear messages about making healthy choices as early as preschool. This is especially important since the average age of first time drug use in Arizona is 13 years old. By participating in this webinar, we will help you prepare for such discussions.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 19, 2015 from noon to 12:30 p.m.
COST: Free
