Delta Dental of Arizona Shades the Competition with New DeltaVision® Add-on

(GLENDALE, Ariz. – Jan. 23, 2023) – Recognizing that people are four times more likely to get an eye exam than a physical, Delta Dental of Arizona is pleased to announce an exciting new benefit available for its group vision plans. One & Sun, is a proactive DeltaVision plan feature that encourages Arizonans to schedule preventive eye exams annually.  This first-of-its-kind program in Arizona rewards qualifying DeltaVision members for getting their annual preventive eye examination with a pair of non-prescription Ray-Ban®, Oakley® or other brand name sunglasses. When a group elects this new vision add-on, they pay a small additional cost for their subscribing employees so they can obtain the pair of high-quality shades worth up to $190.

How it works:

  • When an eligible member has a routine eye exam and DeltaVision receives a qualifying claim, the member will automatically receive a unique redemption code in the mail.
  • The member will then have 90 days to visit www.oneandsun.com, where they can choose from several top-selling non-prescription styles.
  • Once they enter their redemption code, provide their shipping address, and submit their order, their new sunglasses will arrive within 10 business days.
  • Eligible members can receive one pair of sunglasses every two years, in addition to their regular benefits for prescription lenses and frames.

“We’re committed to setting members up for a lifetime of healthy vision and healthy smiles,” said JoLou Trujillo-Ottino, senior vice president of sales and business development at Delta Dental of Arizona. “In addition to ensuring the health of our eyes, regular eye exams can help identify the early signs of several chronic health conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and high cholesterol. The sooner these health issues are found, the sooner they can be addressed and treated.”

Early diagnosis of conditions like these can save lives as well as cut long-term medical costs for members and employers. The Vision Council states that employers can save as much as $7 for every $1 spent on vision care due to reduced absenteeism, increased productivity, and lower overall claims costs. In addition, diabetes and pre-diabetes represent the third most costly health condition for employers. This condition affects more than 110 million in the U.S. and is expected to affect twice as many in 20 years.

Delta Dental of Arizona has been providing vision benefits across Arizona since 2007. One & Sun is available as an optional DeltaVision add-on benefit when employers bundle their dental and vision coverage with Delta Dental of Arizona. For more information, visit www.deltadentalaz.com/vision.
