Arizona Association for Economic Development Announces New Officers and Board Members

(PHOENIX – May 24, 2022) – The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) has announced its new officers for 2022-2023.

Wendy Bridges, AZED Pro, economic development project manager, city of Goodyear, is AAED’s new president.  Skip Becker, AZED Pro, director of project management and development, Terrapin Care Station, begins his term as president-elect.  Karla Moran, AZED Pro, principal, economic development, Salt River Project, is vice president.  Jennifer Lindley, AZED Pro, downtown development manager, town of Queen Creek, assumes the role of secretary/treasurer, while Lori Collins, deputy economic development director, city of Mesa, is immediate past-president.

AAED has also elected seven members to its board of directors.

Kirsten Hall, AZED Pro, business attraction project manager, city of Surprise; Michael Jansen, AZED Pro, economic development specialist, town of Sahuarita; Heath Vescovi-Chiordi, AZED Pro, director of economic development, Pima County; Tom Pitts, Tom Pitts Consulting; and James Smith, CEcD, economic and workforce development director, Pinal County, were all elected for their first terms.

Elected for their second terms were Tim Suan, deputy town manager, director of economic development, town of Wickenburg, and Kristen Stephenson, senior vice president, research & analytics, GPEC.

The new officers and board members were approved at AAED’s general membership meeting, which was held in Tucson.

AAED, founded in 1974, has a mission to serve as Arizona’s unified voice advocating for responsible economic development through an effective program of professional education, public policy, and collaboration.
