Adelante Healthcare Honors Delta Dental of Arizona with 2026 Legacy of Care Award

(PHOENIX – Sept. 29, 2026) —  Adelante Healthcare, which provides medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and additional services across Maricopa County, has awarded Delta Dental of Arizona as the recipient of its 2026 Legacy of Care Award, the organization’s highest recognition. Given annually, the Legacy of Care Award recognizes a partner whose sustained commitment has made a lasting difference in community health, equity, and access to care.

“Delta Dental of Arizona’s long-term partnership has helped us bring preventive oral health services directly into pediatric care, allowing us to reach children earlier and connect families to the care they need,” said Pedro Cons, chief executive officer of Adelante Healthcare. “They have helped us expand our reach and break down some of the many barriers that limit access to healthcare across our communities.”

Barb Kozuh, executive director of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation, accepted the honor with team member Espie Jauregui-Echeveste and Foundation board member Jessica Yanow, who is also CEO of the Arizona Alliance of Community Health Centers, during Adelante’s recent Rooted in Community Luncheon at Phoenix International Raceway.

“Since receiving its first Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation community grant in 2016, Adelante has completed nearly 22,000 pediatric oral health visits. The partnership has also helped expand pediatric oral health services to Adelante’s Buckeye and Peoria locations,” said Kozuh. “By investing in programs focused on oral health, medical-dental integration, food insecurity and now vision, we can help more Arizonans access the care and resources they need to live healthier lives.”

According to Kozuh, each year the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation opens grant applications to organizations serving underserved and uninsured Arizonans through programs focused on oral health, medical-dental integration, and food insecurity. Eligible programs may include oral health education, disease prevention and access to dental care; programs that integrate oral health with medical care; food banks, after-school and weekend food programs for children and senior food delivery programs; and vision education, prevention and treatment programs. To give perspective, in 2026, the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation awarded $838,372 in grants to 37 nonprofit organizations that work with underserved populations of all ages through oral health and nutritional programs.

Currently, grant applications are being accepted by the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation for its 2027 grant cycle, and this year, organization’s offering vision programs to individuals and families are also eligible.
