AAED to Host Northern Arizona Economic Development Regional Symposium
The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) will host the 2014 Northern Arizona Economic Development Regional Symposium, Friday, Oct. 17 at the Cottonwood Recreation Center in Cottonwood.
Cottonwood Mayor Diane Joens will welcome attendees during the opening session, beginning at 9:45 a.m.
The symposium, “Partnerships at Work,” will focus on economic development partnerships that work. Economic development and private sector managers from the Northern Arizona area will share success stories and expertise on their successes using various marketing and economic development tools.
Among the morning panelists will be Janice Washington, president, Arizona Small Business Development Center Network; David Hirsch, president/CEO, Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona, Inc., and Rich Bowen, assistant vice president for economic development, NAU, with Jane Bristol serving as moderator.
An afternoon panel, moderated by Wendy Bridges, economic development coordinator for the city of Prescott, will feature Annette Zinky, interim president & CEO, NACET; Lisa McCabe, president, Bullhead Regional Economic Development Authority Inc., Dave Roy, director of operations, Guidance Aviation, and John Hansen, chief operating officer, Laron.
Keith Watkins, senior vice president, rural economic development, Arizona Commerce Authority, will also provide an update on northern Arizona economic development initiatives.
