AAED To Hold Tribal Symposium ‘Building on the Four Cornerstones of Economic Development’
(MARICOPA, Ariz. – July 16, 2019) The Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) will hold a Tribal Symposium, “Building on the Four Cornerstones of Economic Development.” The symposium will be held Aug. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Elements Event Center, 16000 Maricopa Road #200, Ak-Chin Circle, in Maricopa.
Steve Gunderson, president of Tallsalt Advisors LLC, will provide the keynote address, “Growth Fund Investing for Tribal Nations.”
There will also be presentations that will share insight into programs and resources that are making a difference in tribal economic development.
Among the speakers will be Robert Miguel, chairman of the Ak-Chin Indian Community; Jon Canyon, chair of AAED’s Tribal Economic Development Committee; Marcus Denetdale, program manager at Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction; Chris Billey, board chair for the American Indian Chamber of Commerce Arizona; Alia Hauter, director of communications for the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development; and Nancy Welch, vice president of the Flinn Foundation’s Arizona Center for Leadership.
