(PHOENIX – Nov. 17, 2020) – The Arizona Association of REALTORS® recently approved a donation of $25,000 to the Arizona Housing Fund (AZHF) on behalf of the 2020 REALTORS® of Arizona Political Action Committee (RAPAC) Major Investors.
The Arizona Housing Fund is a dedicated and sustainable funding source for nonprofit agencies that build and operate permanent supportive, low-income, and working poor housing units. This donation will ensure that more housing units are constructed, meeting the growing community needs in Arizona with the goal of reducing homelessness.
“With more than 52,000 members, the Arizona Association of REALTORS® is helping us greatly expand our reach and generate a significant volume of donations through our escrow donation program,” says Howard Epstein, Arizona Housing Fund founder. “We are so appreciative of this generous donation. Like every donation we receive, 100% of every dollar will go directly into providing grant funding for nonprofits building affordable and supportive housing units in Arizona.”
In addition to the $25,000 donation from Arizona REALTORS®, a broker industry leaders group organized by REALTOR® Carol Perry also donated an additional $700 to the Arizona Housing Fund.
“REALTORS® help people achieve the American Dream of finding a place they can call home,” says Arizona REALTORS® CEO Michelle Lind. “The Arizona Housing Fund aligns perfectly with this mission and we are pleased to support and promote this initiative to help address the problem of homelessness in the Grand Canyon State.” RAPAC Chairman Shane Cook says the decision to redirect the dollars, typically earmarked for an annual event, received unanimous support. “In a year when so many Arizonans experienced unprecedented loss, we could not be more proud to make this donation and hope it helps those in need.” said Cook.
In addition, the Arizona REALTORS® provides an opportunity for buyers and sellers to voluntarily donate $25 (or more) to the Arizona Housing Fund at close of escrow. The donation form takes 20 seconds to complete, and after completion the funds go directly from the title company to the Fund.
