Are You a Responsible, Independent News Consumer?
We’re just getting back from the 4th of July holiday. Our team had Monday and Tuesday off to relax and recharge. The long (hot) days of summer are here and the extra day off was a welcome break.
The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4th, 1776, setting the stage for the Constitution of the United States.
Independence Day marks the day the United States officially became its own nation. It is a day to honor and celebrate the freedoms afforded us. One of the most recognizable of the rights guaranteed in the Constitution is the First Amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press.
But with rights also come responsibilities. I talked about the responsibility of being a consumer of news on a past episode the Copper State of Mind podcast. It is still relevant today, give it a listen.
